Have Passion. Will Teach.

high school english teacher, master of english, bookworm

i love: reading books, writing, teaching, listening to and talking with smart people, pop culture, young adult fiction, joan didion, aaron sorkin, dave matthews band, red wine, coffee, baseball and watching sports.

Well it’s day two of my vacation…the one good thing about my school getting out on December 23 is that the Christmas hustle is over and I still have two weeks of vacation left…and I foresee a lot of sitting around in pajamas and reading Jane Austen and books about the Sixties and Bob Dylan (books I got for Christmas, woo.)

The truth is that I have a box of papers in a cardboard box in my car that need to be graded, but seeing as how I found out on the last day of school (MY BIRTHDAY, BTW) that the teacher I’m LT subbing for is coming back three months earlier than expected, and rather than being employed through May AS EXPECTED, I’m going to be done at the end of January, I just can’t muster the strength to bring the papers inside.  I’d much rather enjoy two weeks of nerdish escapism.  So I’m just going to keep listening to Ben Folds and read Persuasion.
