i love: reading books, writing, teaching, listening to and talking with smart people, pop culture, young adult fiction, joan didion, aaron sorkin, dave matthews band, red wine, coffee, baseball and watching sports.
i should have seen this coming

my principal’s assistant called two days ago to tell me that the district called to inform them that there are still people on a rehire list who need to be offered the job they offered me.  so i don’t have the job anymore :( 

i’m annoyed because i was looking forward to having a steady assignment for 90 percent of the year. and i’m annoyed because i asked my principal if there was any possibility this could happen and he said no. but mostly i’m annoyed that i let myself get excited about it, because i knew deep down there was a chance this could happen but i chose to believe him anyway. :/
